In the category “Improvement and landscape integration in business premises” the jury members unanimously awarded a Special Mention to the Hotel Tigaiga.

According to the jury this is a recognition for the efforts and trajectory of this company in landscape conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.

The awards ceremony was held last Friday at the Salon Noble of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife.

TUI Holly & TUI Environment Awards 2009

In 15 consecutive years, the hotel Tigaiga once again receives the award Holly in 2009. This award, given by TUI, is based on the recognition and satisfaction from customers of the German tour operator.

Furthermore, for the 13th time since its creation, the hotel Tigaiga also wins TUI Environmental Champion this year. This award, also given by the biggest tour operator, is based in the areas of eco-hotel management (including issues such as energy management, environmental and social engagement, communication and staff training).

CIT hands out awards for services to tourism

CIT (Centro de Iniciativas y Turismo), Puerto de la Cruz led by president Dña. Hortensia Hernández, held their anual gala event. This special evening was organised to present awards and pay homage to those who have excelled themselves in their services to the Puerto de la Cruz tourist industry.

The Hotel Tigaiga, celebrating its 50 anniversary; in recognition of the high standard of quality and exquisite service the Talg brothers have maintained in the footsteps of their grandfather and father, Enrique Talg was thankful and proud to be invited to this special ceremony.

TUI Holly award goes to Tigaiga again

For the fourthteenth time in a row the TUI Holly Award went to the Tigaiga. Out of the 12,000 hotels TUI offers, the ‘Oscar’ in the holiday hotel business was awarded to the 100 best and most popular hotels. As the results in guest questionnaires showed, what especially matters for a winning hotel is service-based trade, ranking the hotel highly from a customers’ point of view.

St. Juan de Dios’s Day is an annual event.

The commemoration ceremony represents the opportunity to showcase the dedication and commitment of firemen serving the community of Tenerife, day in day out, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The occasion is also used to thank the collaboration of institutions who have showed their support and this year the Tigaiga received one of the awards.

Tigaiga receives the 13th TUI Holly 2007

In 2007, as well as in the past 13 years, Tigaiga was voted by TUI guests one of the best 100 hotels out of a total of 12.000 hotels worldwide. A prize giving event to celebrate the awarded hotels took place in Hamburg.

A basic criterion for above award is the valuation of hotels that results from a specific guest questionnaire.

Enrique Talg and The Tigaiga win a merited prize

At the end of April (2006), don Enrique Talg, hotel impresario extraordinary of Puerto de la Cruz, went to Málaga to receive an important prize during the First Congress of Hotel Impresarios. The award is named ‘Order of Hotel Merit’, and is awarded annually by the Spanish Federation of Hotels and Tourist Lodging, in recognition of the excellence of the recipient’s hotel administration.

Enrique Talg (originally hailing from Switzerland) has always been a visionary within the tourist business in the Canaries, as was his father before him. Talg had a great deal to do with the creation of the Quality Plan in Spanish Hotels, a system dedicated to maintaining high standards of excellence and modernity among all the member hotels in the association.

Talg has educated his own three children, now all grown up and very much involved with hotel management, in the never easy task of achieving his customary success in the running of a first-class hotel. Experience, innovation, loyalty, cleanliness are demanded by today’s hotel clients, and the Tigaiga, situated in the beauties of the Taoro Park, has these in spades.

But Enrique is also known for his strength, endurance and great human qualities – qualities which he has inculcated in his own family, that will enable this third generation to perpetuate the high standards that their father inherited from his father.
