New GRUNDFOS pumps

This summer we have been working to improve our wastewater treatment system and have installed new heavy-duty pumps GRUNDFOS SEV which are designed for handling wastewater in industrial applications.

Open day at the Tigaiga

Today, on the World Tourism Day, the Hotel Tigaiga held an Open Day during which students from the British School of Tenerife were invited to see the living environment of the hospitality industry.

The purpose of this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide.

The hotel Tigaiga, like all EMAS organizations, publishes yearly an environmental statement for the interested public.

In it, the company is described with its activities, its products and services. Also included is the environmental policy, data on environmental performance is presented (the so-called core indicators, i.e. energy efficiency, waste and emissions), significant environmental impacts and the environmental program with the specific goals for the improvement of our environmental performance.

New water treatment equipment

This new softener equipment works by exchanging ions from the urban network water. The water will also be pre-filtered to improve quality and to protect the entire hotel Tigaiga installation.

This facility is also intended to protect the environment: thanks to the new softener we plan to reduce the consumption of detergent (kitchen) and the need of fabric softener (laundry). We also hope to keep the machinery for more years (dishwashers, washing machines, ice machines, plumbing fixtures (minimizing the use of degreasing and descaling products).

Fiesta Día de la Cruz

On May 3^rd Tenerife celebrates the day of the Cross: Crosses on the houses are festively decorated with flowers. In municipalities that include the word “Cruz” in their name, it is public holiday, including Puerto de la Cruz.

Even before nightfall, you can hear fireworks, and streets disappear in the mist of pyrotechnics. In the evening many small and larger villages in the Orotava Valley invite you to admire the colorful spectacle: The largest and most famous fireworks will take place in Los Realejos!
